Melt into the Walls
-I feel like moving from Velcro to shoe laces was a devolution in technology. Shoes were much more effective with the Velcro fastenings, and quicker to put on and off. -Cereal is a synonym for sugar. Unless the word Bran or Oat is in the title. -I wonder if it would be easier to guess how many people you have EVER met, or guess how many times you have EVER been in a car. Which one would you...

Spaghetti and Blankets
If you wanted to have the happiest day with food you could…it would go something like this Top #1 Lunch Item of all time: -Burrito. Preferably one made by Chipotle Top #1 Breakfast Item: -Belgian Waffles with strawberries. and at least 6 blueberries Top #1 Dinner Item -Salmon But that would only be if you were me, so if you’re not, then you might want to change the list around.

The Biking Bandits that know how to fly
-Has anybody ever seen a biker actually use the lane allotted to them on the road? I for one only see them either running over pedestrians on the sidewalk, or being extremely rude and making all the cars go slow on the main road. In addition to the windshield wiper squirters, cars should have a front mounted toy Nerf gun to remove these biking bandits from the road. -“Would you rather be...

For the robot
-First, how cool would it be if you could decide when your hair grew. Like, if you had a haircut you liked, you could just keep it that way forever. I’m sure barbers would not like this evolution… In other news… -The following 3 things made today a success: Honey Roasted Peanuts (or the peanut butter equivalent) Naked Juice (the green kind. with the broccoli…) Socks (that...

A for Alex
So, I saw V for Vendetta. Very good. Who knew there were so many words that start with V. That was probably the 42nd thought to cross my mind after the movie (and probably the least interesting) but still worth mentioning. I think it’s funny that I sleep in more on school days than I do on weekends. Also, I bet it would be difficult for someone learning English to remember to use the...

Analog Alex in a Digital World
-So I tried wearing my watch on my right hand today. Very disorienting. I thought, originally, that it was silly that right handed people wear their watches on their left hand. I didn’t think it should make any difference, when in fact, it does. I felt the whole time like I was going to fall over because I was off balance. So don’t switch if you were considering it. -Analog...

Something's Missing
So, being the insomniac that I am, I have decided a few things this morning. (as in nighttime) -First, I need to get a good pair of pajama pants. I feel like this would not only facilitate a more comfortable sleeping process…but also encourage more frequent sleeping events. -Second. I either overestimate or underestimate how many people read this blog. I think it would be hilarious...

Mic Check
OK, so I’ve never had pictures on my blog before….but that’s about to change! At least I hope…I’m not sure if I did everything right. Anyway, more to come, this is just a test shot I took in NZ of our surf spot.

The Magic Shoe (paste)
-If someone were to invent a shoe paste or floor coating that eliminated the squeaky sound sneakers make on rainy days, they would become rich. -I much preferred taking the elevator down to the beach and up to my hotel room as opposed to taking it up to campus and down to my dorm. -I think, instead of having spring (or fall etc) start on the same day every year, there should be a committee in...

I Heart Iceberg Lettuce
Not only is that not true, but I also would never seriously use that expression if I wanted to be taken seriously. .. I have decided that eating on a college campus is expensive. This, of course, we already know. But, the thing that gets me is how difficult they make it to eat vegetables. Let us first be clear; iceberg lettuce is not a vegetable. It has the nutritional value of a piece of...

Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder
There are few things in this world that I love more than the ocean. (excluding people of course) But I miss it so much right now it’s unbelievable. Whatever I do, wherever I end up, there must be an ocean.

Airport Edition Petition Collision
OK, so I’ve spent a good deal of time in airports in my life. I would say I give them about a 3 on a scale of 1-7. Although, I’m never sure if it’s the actual airport that bothers me, or the ineptitude of the majority of air travelers. Let’s start with the check-in counter. -People that forget where they are going need to be escorted out and made to take a boat...

Puerto Rico es cierto!
I’m back! Puerto Rico was out of control. I think, over the course of this last week, I have said something was “out of control” maybe 79 times. I also decided that the actual number of things that were “out of control” was probably somewhere around 165. Some highlights: -Swimming in a Bio-Luminescent lagoon after kayaking down a water passage that was clearly...

Breaking For Spring
So no posts for the next week, Puerto Rico TIME! So you’ll have to do without your daily dose of awesome…until I get back that is and there are crazy stories abounding!

Tailgating on Foot
Hooray for 1,000 visits to Alex’s blog. And hooray for talking in the 3rd person. Man, if only I could remember all the thoughts I have during the day to write up here. I am constantly thinking of things and then immediately forgetting them. One thing that is tough, is anything I write up here, I have to be careful repeating it in conversation..cause it feels like I am repeating myself...

Power Wednesday
“Both” is not spelled with an “L”. People that say ‘bolth’ need to stop. I think it’s funny that all fonts, even this one, were invented by someone. Like, someone actually made this font, as opposed to it just being generated by the computer. I mean, I guess that seems obvious, but when you really think about it, it’s pretty funny to imagine...

Inventory Updates for march
I wonder why they haven’t figured out a way for analog watches to have the date automatically correct itself when the month has less than 31 days. It gets really annoying changing it every month. My theory is that hey had to make analog watches worse than digital in at least one way, since analog kicks digital’s ass pretty much in other way you look at it. I think stores/restaurants...

Woot! The predatory bird of Bethesda is here!
- “Woot” is probably the best new word of the last few years in my opinion. - Is it possible, that a person exists who actually knows everyone of their facebook friends. And when is “facebook” going to become a word that SpellCheck recognizes? - It is better to have a Monday look like Monday than a Friday, overall. -Sometimes, I wish I was a predatory bird. Reason: ...

Ni, la Aliens, kredi vi are muta
A few things for sunday: -People are really bad at judging numbers over 1,000. For example, can you tell the difference between 2,000 and 2,500 people in a crowd? Or if I said I had over 2,000 hours of work experience? I mean, sometimes all it takes is a little common sense…but I feel that people are surprisingly bad at gauging. -I wish that our muscle memory (as humans) was far...

Living backwards in reverse
I wish there was another type of horn for your car. The horn, as it is now, is really good when someone is about to crash into you (or something else equally stupid). But I think it really fails in situations when all you really need is to get someone to turn your direction. For example, when someone is walking in front of your car in the parking lot you don’t really need your horn blast...

Handshake Drugs
I’m wondering how long it will be before we start getting to control the camera angles of televised sports events ourselves. They are always experimenting with these random angles for basketball and I think it would be really cool if I had a button on my remote that could toggle back and forth. So I conducted an experiment today and changed my birthday on thefacebook to today. It’s...

6 Times to Try
Got to love the early morning post! The again it’s not really that early…whatever. So, today, it is 80 degrees outside. People realize it’s still technically winter right? 80 degrees! I need to go buy some shorts so I’m not walking around in a spacesuit. If you aren’t already, you need to make plans to be living in New York City this summer. It will be amazing. ...

The Marvellous Visions of the Star Raft
Has anyone noticed, that no one ever walks around campus without carrying something? Every person you see will at least be carrying a cell phone, bag, books, always something. You never see people just flat out walking for the hell of it. Of course, when I proposed this theory to some friends of mine on the quad I was quickly disproved by a man in blue. But I realized…perhaps he was...
