I invented the internet (and tomatos)
Man if only the internet were slower, I would be so much happier… In other news, things are going well here in NYC. Our band has booked a few gigs, which is very exciting. We’re hoping to get some more, but most of these places have “blackout” dates that prevent you from playing within two weeks of another gig in the city, so we might be all maxed out. I think...
Look up in the sky
So I just got back from the world premier of IMAX 3D Superman. It was awesome, amazing, and super cool. Go see it when it comes out please. (I promise I know more adjectives than just awesome, amazing and super cool)
Commander Keane
OK so just got back from Keane live @ Borders in NYC. They are incredible live, though their set was WAY too short to warrant all the waiting we did to get in. They played 5 songs, we waited for 5 hours. Not fair. :-( But they were pretty incredible so it’s all good. ..
Sour Skittles
Let me just say, I am very frustrated right now. So Ian, Eric and I head over to Borders to line up for Keane tickets at 5:30am. (they go on sale at 8) So, we get there, and there are 3 other people there so we figure we are in business, no problem. Anyway, 8am roles around and Borders decides to screw with the line and somehow (SOMEHOW) we end up being 89th in line instead of 3rd. Man...
Moderate before you Gravitate
So keep an eye out for a Los Lonely Boys AOL Network Live show. I was just at the taping at the Bowery Ballroom and I should be all over the footage. I managed to get front row-ish and there were cameras everywhere! So check it out, it’s awesome. (not cause I’m there… but that’s cool too) In other news, work was kinda rough today blah blah. I’m thinking about...
NYC Apples
OK, it’s been too long since I’ve told you what’s going on here in NYC. So I thought I’d try to remember some of the cool things I’ve been up to. Here is a list of some of the craziness we’ve been getting into up top: Remember, this is all so far, more to come! And I’ve been uber-lame with my camera so there aren’t as many pictures as I’d...
Brokedown Melody
I get this weird sense, when I walk around the city, of “preparation.” It seems that everyone is always out there getting ready to go do something else. Maybe I just get this feeling because I hang around SoHo too much, where people are always buying random stuff, but it just seems like no one is actually doing the thing they are preparing for. It sort of seems like no one even...
I didn't sleep the whole night
Friday night in the city. Not as exciting as last night.. when a voice boomed through the halls of my floor saying something to the effect of “The {something} has been activated, please await further instruction. May I have your attention, the…” Followed closely by a loud beeping noise. Of course, this was all at 5am when I was completely delirious. So, sleepy alex being...
Put some CL on that Ass
Act I is over. I’ve decided that this summer is unfolding much like a play. Not that I have any idea how a play unfolds.. Anyway. It’s been about 2 weeks since I got here and I think I have fully settled in. Things don’t seem weird anymore, everything is starting to look familiar. Granted, I have been to about 20% of the city, but I feel very comfortable with that 20%. ...
Fall Apart Again
Man it’s hard to keep up with this city. I’ve been here for two weeks and I already have way to many things I’d like to write up in a journal or something. Anyone who has ever tried to start a journal KNOWS it’s impossible to keep it up. I have a few awesome beginnings to journals but never a middle and never an end. My hands hurt. No more bloggy. PIcture? I love the...
