Italy Arrival x Lago d’Orta

After some fairly excellent Lufthansa flights, we have arrived in Italy and plopped down along side Lago d’Orta. The above picture is the view from the room (what!). We are all sleep deprived and hungry, but were able to do a little scouting mission into the town before crashing. We found a multitude of shops, restaurants and little side streets to keep us busy. For now, it’s shower and nap time.

We are here for the next two days and I can’t wait to take my camera around. There are so many amazing buildings in this neighborhood and not a tourist in sight. The textures on the sides of the buildings are what I can’t get over. I’ll probably come home with hundreds of pictures of building facades. There is also a ton of great hand-done type, which I’ll try to post on tomorrow. The internet here is (predictably) mega slow and uploading pictures is proving rather time consuming. Thankfully, that will be the theme of the trip. Nothing will be fast or stressful. Everything is to unfold sloooowly and calmly. The juxtaposition with the pace of last week is already quite apparent and very refreshing.
