Hot Hot Heat

Oh my it’s hot in my room. 32 degrees celsius if that means anything to you. My general rule of thumb is that anything over 30 = hot. I may not know the exact fahrenheit conversion, but I know it means I should be wearing shorts and drinking a Capri Sun.

Today we went to the top of the nearest peak and observed Orta from above. The “peak” was thankfully only about a 30 min hike. Up there we found a large compound with a number of churches and large buildings with fancy things inside (of the religious variety). The view was great of the lake and the weather even better.

After our hike we made our way back to town for some lunch. I got my third gnocchi dish of the trip; pumpkin sauce with pesto, great combination it seems. We then headed north along the lake side on a trail literally on the edge of the water for the whole way. It was in remarkable shape considering its proximity to the water and apparent lack of an owner or overseeing authority. That’s one thing I’ve definitely noticed about this town, no one seems to be in charge. If you want to jump in the lake and light a bush on fire, go for it, no one is here to stop you.

For now it’s too hot to hang around in the room, so I’m outta here.
