I need better binoculars
And all of a sudden it’s friday. (and sneakily cold out) Is it just me or are these weeks passing at an absurdly fast rate. I could just say fast, but oh no that would not be exciting. Anyway, one minute it’s monday the next it’s thursday, crazy. Very psyched for “The Holljes Brothers With Alex Cornell” (hey that’s me!) show this Saturday because it’s going to more amazing than ice cream. And if you stand up during the show, we’ll buy you some. (according to Coldplay)
Has anyone heard Jason Mraz’s new album? Oh ok yeah me neither because it was bad. Don’t get me wrong, I like him a lot, but this album was about as intriguing to me as refried beans. What pop music is missing is GUITAR dammit. There isn’t any anywhere…and trust me, if there was I would hear it. A while ago, Pop music was missing talent (which arguably it still is…) but I think these days it’s just missing instrument variety. Though it’s possible I don’t know what I’m talking about since I’ve severed every connection I had to pop music (aka MTV, the radio, etc) in an effort to find more satisfying alternatives. Most recently, the Arctic Monkeys are doing the job, followed closely by Magnet, Iain Archer and AM. Of course Muse will always be there to rock the room, and maybe Aqualung. Remember the Gin Blossoms? THEY were damn good pop music. Blah now I’m frustrated
