Ni, la Aliens, kredi vi are muta
A few things for sunday:
-People are really bad at judging numbers over 1,000. For example, can you tell the difference between 2,000 and 2,500 people in a crowd? Or if I said I had over 2,000 hours of work experience? I mean, sometimes all it takes is a little common sense…but I feel that people are surprisingly bad at gauging.
-I wish that our muscle memory (as humans) was far superior than it is now. As in, once we get something down, it never leaves us. For example, once you make a basketball shot that’s it, you can do it every time because your muscle memory is just that good. Of course, this would render most professional sports completely useless because there would be no talent gradient. It would pretty much only come down to running speed or strength. But I feel like if aliens existed, this is one of the things that they would have developed.
-Another thing about aliens. If they were to be observing us (hypothetically of course) I bet they would be surprised to find that we, as a species, don’t all speak the same language. I mean, I understand all the cultural reasons that people stick to languages, believe me…I took linguistics. But, it just seems like a fairly elementary thing efficiency/understanding/peace wise. I mean, I’ll just go ahead and say it, I bet in 100 years everyone is speaking the same language. I think they tried this a while back with the universal language “Esperanto,”, though clearly that didn’t work. (though there are about 2 million speakers)
