Are you on drugs or do you just always make this much sense?
Idea for a metaphor type thing:
So I have recently decided, after living in New York City for a few days, that a good way to describe my music taste would be to refer to artists and bands etc as Manhattan neighborhoods. So, Central Park would be the ‘center’ of my musical taste, with artists like John Mayer, Coldplay, Muse, and Howie Day hanging out. Then, the farther you get from central park, the farther you get from my ‘central’ musical tastes. So an artist like Danger Mouse, someone whom I like but not really all that much, would be somewhere like Little Italy, or Battery Park. He’s still in Manhattan somewhere (aka I like him) but he’s more of external part of the wheel. If that makes any sense at all. Some artists have moved out of central park into like the upper east side. For example, Dave Matthews, who I used to looove, just really isn’t all that crucial anymore. So, he’s taken up residence just outside the Met. Pretty much all of country music and death metal are hanging out in the outer boroughs. As in I disapprove. (Unless your name is Brad Paisley)
