I invented the internet (and tomatos)
Man if only the internet were slower, I would be so much happier…
In other news, things are going well here in NYC. Our band has booked a few gigs, which is very exciting. We’re hoping to get some more, but most of these places have “blackout” dates that prevent you from playing within two weeks of another gig in the city, so we might be all maxed out.
I think it’s so weird how everywhere I go, and stay for a somewhat limited amount of time (New Zealand, NYC, Duke etc, has different “feelings” associated with it as the months go on. It’s sort of the type of thing that can really only be noticed retrospectively, but I always feel this way. For example, the way New Zealand “felt” in those first couple weeks is so distinct in my mind when I look back on it, and completely different than how it was towards the end. This might seem obvious, and if it does, I don’t think you are getting what I’m talking about. I can’t really put into words exactly what I mean by this business. Hmm. I had an idea of how to write it a second ago and now I can’t remember. bullocks
I’ve recently been really pissed off when leaving movies theaters, but not because of the movie I saw, rather, the reactions I overhear of other audience members. I would hate to be a movie producer! The type of people you have to appeal to are ridiculous! People don’t like movies for the stupidest reasons I have ever heard and it drives me mad. One reason, above all, that gets me all hot and bothered is the “it wasn’t realistic” argument. YOU REALIZE that you are seeing a movie about a guy who can shoot lazer beams out of his eyes, who cares if the fact that he can pick up a train is “physically impossible”! Give me a break seriously. People are dumb, a fact that is only reinforced if you ever work in retail. (something I have done one time too many)
Whoa! Slow down on the bitterness alex jeez. You would think that I had a bad hit of green tea or something.
