You Don’t Have a Favorite Color
So I bought a little leather notebook that fits in my pocket yesterday. This way, I can write down blog ideas as they come to me so I don’ end up forgetting everything when I come to write. Here is what I found written in it this morning: Color Combinations.
I wrote ‘color combinations’ because we were having a conversation about what my favorite color was. I, like everyone else it seems, responded that blue was my favorite color. I realized however, that this is a stupid question. When will you be forced to choose one color and one color only? The only time that I can think of is when you are playing a board game, which is important, but irrelevant. I think the more useful question would be: “what is your favorite color combination.” This is so much more telling! Everytime you are forced to choose a color, it is almost always being picked in coordination with another group of colors. So having a tasteful favorite color combo is much more interesting than saying “blue” or just “red”. Anyway, here are my favorite color combos:
Orange/Brown/Yellow (70’s style..)
Light Teal/Maroon
Teal/Black/Silver
Pink/Brown
Black/Gold
Black/Anything…
