WARNING: Bitterness Edition # 2
Soccer balls. Why are they always so different looking? Footballs, tennis balls, baseballs, ping pong balls, basketballs, they always are consistent in their appearances for professional sports. Soccer balls however come in all different colors. Silver is popular, but I’ve seen yellow, green, black white, whatever. The funny thing is, it never looks like the stereotypical soccer ball with the black and white octagons. Weird man, weird.
One other thing that’s bugging alex: NFL coaches are required to wear NFL apparel on the sideline. How much coooooler did they look a while back when they were allowed to wear suits! Vince Lombardi. Enough said.
Situation: You are watching a movie with three friends in your basement. Something funny happens in the movie and you make a comment about it, but no one responds to your comment at all. You inevitably feel a little awkward because your joke/comment has fallen flat, and/or no one has deemed it worthy of a response. At least, that’s how it feeeels. But switch it around, and your friend is the one that makes the comment. You don’t say anything because who knows, you are tired whatever.. The point is, you don’t feel the awkwardness that they do. In other words, if you make a comment during a movie and no one responds, it’s not cause your comment sucked. Maybe that made sense
According to Addison: “People at Duke are overly awkward.” I would agree.
On a somewhat related note.. I am amazed at how often people interrupt each other. I find I am constantly trying to listen to two people at once because someone didn’t realize someone else was talking to me. It’s really not that hard to be aware of things like that. Politeness. Very basic.
People that show up late to airports should not be given any leeway. Think about it, if you are late to a plane, they will usher you to the front of the line. “Anyone on the 4:20 to Seattle?” etc etc. This is STUPID. If you are late then too bad, find another flight. You should not get rewarded and get to skip all the lines just because you can’t grasp the simple workings of a clock. Either that or you are selfishly taking advantage of the system and you are a bad person. OR OK FINE you are late because of some legit reason. Traffic whatever, I understand that these things happen and it’s not the people’s fault. I would however hazard that at least 70% of the time it is the person’s fault. Traffic really isn’t a good excuse, because you should be leaving early enough anyway. I don’t know, I hate lateness and I know I sound bitter… but that’s cause I am.
So yeah, a little bitter I guess… but I have to write it down here because if I complain out loud.. people don’t really listen. That or I don’t want people to think I’m talking about them etc etc.
