Um…Mutton Busting?
So a bunch of us went to a rodeo tonight because… well why not? It was AWESOME. Probably one of the funniest/weirdest/strangest/coolest things I’ve seen in a few days. It pretty much felt like we were in a satire film… but it was all for real. I kept looking for Christopher Guest. The best part was by far this event called “Mutton Busting” … which sounds ridiculous (and is). Basically, they take a sheep, a small child, and a bike helmet. They put the helmet on the kid (no more than like 6) and tell him to hold onto the sheep for as long as he can. So the sheep runs around in circles with this small child clutching onto it for dear life until the kid gets too tired to grip any longer. The kid then goes flying and the sheep saunters off. It is unbelievably ridiculous and awesome. Definitely the one of the strangest “sporting” events ever.
