OK so mystery solved. What I thought said “Have cut Qualify” actually was “Hair Cut Qualify”. I think what I was referring to was how hard it is to describe what you want your haircut to be like. You don’t want the stylist to follow your directions too closely, because you might not know what actually looks good. But you don’t want to leave it all up to them, because they don’t know what you think looks good. So it’s this really delicate balance of just saying enough instructions, but also leaving them room to do their thing. I usually say “I don’t want to look like I got a haircut, but I want you to cut some hair.” that actually works remarkably well..
The great thing about North Carolina is that you can drive in pretty much any direction for 30 minutes and hit some highway. I discovered this as I got myself lost somewhere off the coast of 15-501 today. Just don’t go down any unlit roads, and try to follow the direction that more than one cars are taking.
