We are nowhere and it is now

I think it would eventually get pretty awkward to be a pilot on a long transcontinental flight. Think about it. You are sitting next to another pilot for 8 hours, a guy you don’t know very well, and all you have in common is your profession. This can actually probably provide a few hours of conversation, but I assume it gets old after a while. Then all you are left with is cocktail hour type stuff…which can be annoying. I don’t know, I think that would be a complicated social encounter. Is this silence awkward? Should I make a joke? Maybe I’ll make a joke to the passengers instead?

“Before Sunset” is a good movie according to me. (As is “before sunrise”) Both movies are essentially very long dialogues between these two characters that met randomly. They talk about some really interesting stuff etc etc and the movie is over. Good show. In the second one, one of the main characters (the guy) has written a book about the pair’s first encounter. The girl reads the book and they eventually meet up again. That really got me thinking about how weird it would be to base a book on yourself and someone else, then they read it, and then you see them again. I think this would just be a profoundly odd situation. It’s part of why I never write about other people on my blog… I think it would be way too weird to see them again knowing they had read about themselves on my blog. It’s tough actually, cause sometimes it’s what’s dominating my thinking, but I can’t write about it.. at least not here. I guess that’s why I write songs haha

So I am playing a solo show tonight, for the first time in a while. I’m really excited about it, it’s been so long! I like being the only one up there, just me and a guitar. It feels safer for some reason, and less stressful… when by all accounts it should be way more stressful. Who knows how that works out. Anyway, he set is mostly covers, but some new originals I just wrote which I really like. here is the full set:

Disease (Slow and sexy like) (Matchbox 20 cover)
Come Home (Ari Hest)
Original Song..yet to be titled (written yesterday)
Message in a Bottle (Police)
Hey Jealousy (Gin Blossoms)
Slip Slidin Away (Paul Simon)
Interstate Love Song (STP)
Another new original … yet to be titled
Control (Moses Mayfield) (with crazy vocal delay pedal stuffs)
Sucker (John Mayer)

Milosh is rocking the house right now. (in the chillest way possible.) “Couldn’t Sleep” or “Trying” are great tracks to get started on if you feel so inclined.
