But I’m not an Aviator!
The other day, when I took those pictures of the stunt planes flying over the bay, it was completely a coincidence that I had my camera when they were flying. Today, I take my camera out to take pictures down by the pier, and the Blue Angels fly over. They just decide, “Hmm yeah today might be a good day to buzz the Golden Gate, why not?” My camera has this weird Flying Machine Magnet feature built into it..
It’s really funny that the two times I have gone on photo missions involving everything BUT planes, I end up sprinting all over the city trying to get an angle on planes. Today I started down by Fisherman’s Wharf, then ran as fast as I could up to Coit Tower to get the best angle. It worked pretty well, pictures are below, but whenever they got close enough for a great shot it was SO loud I had to cover my ears. I actually saw them break the sound barrier (that grey circle that envelops the plane) which was amaaaazing to see. (LOUD to hear). Also, Fisherman’s Wharf kind of sucks as a place, smells great though. mmmm…really great…ice cream cones and cinnabuns.
The Blue Angels flying UNDER the Golden Gate
Classy
Are they promoting Breast Cancer awareness? (isn’t that the Survivor symbol)
Blue Angel and American Flag, what symbolism! (ugh)
My fellow viewers (that drove, not sprinted)
Another fellow photographer, though he’s not that into it…
